The Case of the Egg Hunt By Bethany Gortner |
||
|
"Hi Its me again, Hank the Cowdog." It all started this morning while I was checking out the quadrants for any signs of outlawry. I overheard Sally May talking on the phone. She was talking to Alfredās Scout Leader. "Yes," she said, "bring them over in two hours and we will start the egg hunt." Huh?!? Egg hunt? Why would anyone hunt eggs. I went to find Drover. Youāll never believe this but he was talking to Rip and Snort. "What are you doing here?" I growled. "No Hunkās business." Snort smiled. "Never mind you two. Drover, we have a big case to solve. Four and five year old boys are going to come and hunt eggs with 88 rifles. I think we should hide and watch to make sure they donāt hurt themselves." "Rip and Snort help hunt eggs." We found a hiding place and waited. Finally a van pulled up and the boys piled out. But instead of guns they carried, huh, pink and green baskets? And instead of shooting eggs they walked around and pulled them out of their hiding places. "Hunk lie." the coyotes growled and started to come towards me. Oh well, at least I know what an egg hunt is. Case closed. |
